The project is an addition to the existing Ballwin Baptist Church building featuring a two-story school with supporting spaces and an entry foyer with a 42 foot tall glass tower and steeple. The capacity of the existing structure was evaluated to support new over-framing and façade renovations.
The structural system features wood roof trusses, concrete slab on steel joists elevated floor, masonry and light gauge stud walls, and steel X-bracing and shear walls as a lateral loads resisting system.
