This structure is a 31,200 square foot building, which was modified by raising the existing roof structure approximately 12 feet to provide high bay storage areas using the latest computerized equipment. The scope included the design of column extensions and reinforcement, verification of the capacity of existing structural elements, the design of a new lateral system to resist wind and seismic loads in accordance with current code requirements, and the design of a new loading dock addition.
