Jewish Community Center - Staenberg Family Complex - St. Louis, MO
Pillar Design Group provided a structural engineering design services and and preparation of construction documents for renovation of the community fitness center and building addition at the St. Louis Jewish Community Center.
The work was completed in two phases.
The first phase was a new, approximately 90,000 square feet building with a gymnasium, indoor pools, racquetball and squash courts, weight training areas and offices. A portion of a new building will have a second story.
The second phase was a renovation and part demolition of an existing concrete framed structure resulting in a 60,000 square feet two-story structure. The renovation phase involved analysis to verify seismic retrofit requirements, infill of existing floor openings, new canopy structures, new curtain walls, and new platforms for roof mounted mechanical equipment.
