Pillar Design Group provided a structural engineering design services and and preparation of construction documents for renovation of the  320 ft tall reinforced concrete chimney servicing Campus Power Plant at the University of Missouri Columbia.  

 

The chimney repair scope involves reinforced concrete repairs, structural strengthening of chimney structure with fiber reinforced polymer composites,

brick liner repairs as well as upgrades to mechanical and electrical systems. 

 

Pillar's scope included design of replacement service platform with new stainless steel structures.

 

The project has been completed  in  December 2011.
